A sophisticated approach to sustainable design is not based on receiving credits or points on a check list. Its core principles are based inherently on understanding the climate, region and environments in which we build. We believe that critical investigations, research, development and evaluation of architectural implications will effect a buildings eco-footprint. These are the principal, conceptual functions that begin to inform the architectural discourse. Developing, evaluating and implementing these ideas throughout the design process will integrate them with the final architectural solution.
RDB’s strategies for sustainable design are the combination of proper architectural solution, reductive building development, healthier interior environments, integrated efficient engineered systems and a construction process that reduces the collective environmental impact. We feel this fundamental approach pertains to all projects not just one looking to achieve a USGBC rating.
